Deano Returns

Dean Ashton will play his first game of football in nearly 12 months tomorrow as he turns out for West Ham United against Dagenham & Redbridge.

The 24 year old Alex legend suffered a broken ankle in August 2006 whilst preparing for his England international debut, an injury which ruled him out for the entire 2006/2007 season.

He’s spent the last 12 months having numerous operations and steadily building himself back to full fitness under the expert eye of physio John Green, the man who helped Michael Owen overcome his recent bout of injuries.

Ashton, whose last game was at Cardiff in the 05/06 FA Cup final, returned to full training this month with the rest of his [super rich] West Ham squad.

‘Deano’ is almost a certainty to play some part in West ham United’s friendly at Dagenham & Redbridge tomorrow afternoon, let’s hope it’s the start of a much more successful year for Dean!

Dean played today, got a crunching tackle on his ankle in the first minute apparently! Came through all right though.
