Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis will step up his search for another striker following Uche Ikpeazu’s surprise return to Watford.

“We do have options here but I would like to find another big one” – Steve Davis

The teenager was recalled by his parent club despite agreeing a season-long loan extension with the Railwaymen only twenty-four hours earlier.

“We do have options here with the players we have but I would like to find another big one if I can,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “We could do with one more.

“Uche gave us something different,” he added. “He was a big bustling, old fashioned type of centre-forward and they are not easy to find but we will have a look to see what may be about.”
