Manager Steve Davis remains concerned at the lack of goals from his Crewe Alexandra side but won’t be re-entering the loan market.

“We are creating chances and the players here have to start putting a few of them away” – Steve Davis

There were some thoughts that Davis would make an immediate move to reinforce his squad after striker AJ Leitch-Smith was ruled out for around a month due to sustaining ankle ligament damage at Portsmouth.

However, Davis has decided that he will instead rely on what he already has and trust the goals start to flow from the likes of Mathias Pogba, Max Clayton and Byron Moore.

“I have thought about bringing someone else in,” he admitted to Alex’s official website. “I have been thinking about it over the last couple of weeks but I want to give our own players a chance. We are still creating chances and the players here know that we have to start putting a few of them away.”
