Manager Steve Davis conceded it was a fair enough result after Crewe Alexandra drew 1-1 with Shrewsbury Town at Gresty Road.

“We are disappointed with the goal we have conceded because there are probably three or four mistakes” – Steve Davis

On loan striker Tom Hitchcock’s second goal in three games gave the Railwaymen a first-half lead that was cancelled out by Jon Taylor after the break.

“In the end it was probably a fair result,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “We had quite a few shots from distance in the second half but didn’t really create anything clear cut that could win the game for us.

“We are disappointed with the goal we have conceded because there are probably three or four mistakes in the goal,” he admitted. “We warned the defenders at half-time about Taylor`s runs and we haven’t managed to track him. So that is disappointing that we managed to let them wear us down in the second-half.”
