Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis called for forward Byron Moore to again reach double figures in terms of goals this season.

“He should be scoring goals to take us where we want to be” – Steve Davis

The 24-year-old opened his account for the campaign with a brace as the Alex defeated Swindon Town 2-1 at Gresty Road last night.

He had previously failed to find the mark during a dozen appearances despite managing ten goals last season, including in the Wembley play-off final victory against Cheltenham Town.

“He should score double figures in League One if he’s got aspirations of playing higher,” Davis told BBC Radio Stoke. “But that should be with us, he should be scoring goals to take us where we want to be.”
