Manager Steve Davis is looking to recruit at least three quality players for Crewe Alexandra over the summer.

“I’ll maybe try to bring in three players to try to add a bit more quality” – Steve Davis

The Alex chief currently has a ball-playing midfielder, fast-raiding winger and a main target-man at the top of his wanted list.

Davis and his assistant manager Neil Baker have already been away scouting for new talent this week in preparation for next season.

“I’ll maybe try to bring in three players to try to add a bit more quality,” Davis told This is Staffordshire. “Hopefully players can come in who are better than what we have got.

“We are okay with goalkeepers and defenders,” he continued. “With midfield it depends what happens, but we might need some depth in there, a ball player who doesn’t necessarily need to be experienced; he could be young with potential. I’d like more pace on the wing and a target player.”
