Steve Davis praised the battling qualities of his side as they fought back to win 3-2 at Colchester United.

“We don’t often come back from 2-0 down so to do that should be enjoyed” – Steve Davis

Substitute Ryan Lowe came off the bench to score an injury-time winner on his return to the club after already fashioning an equaliser for Marcus Haber. Ryan Colclough was also on target for the visitors.

“It was a fantastic comeback from the lads and a great way to win it in the way we did,” Davis reacted to Crewe’s official website. “We don’t often come back from 2-0 down so to do that should be enjoyed. The lads showed great spirit and I couldn’t fault their determination and effort.

“I am just delighted for everyone and it shows the character of the players after what happened on Saturday,” he added. “Now we have to take that into Oldham at the weekend.”
