Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis was delighted to come through an important encounter with another victory.

“We have had four fantastic results now which have boosted confidence” – Steve Davis

Striker Nicky Ajose scored twice and fellow loanee Uche Ikpeazu added another to finally account for lowly Gillingham 3-1 at Gresty Road.

“Conditions were difficult and it made it scrappy at times,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “But we saw it through
and I was pleased we got the third goal to kill the game off.

“Hopefully we can keep looking up and leave the others behind,” he added. “We have had four fantastic results now which have boosted confidence. We have tough games coming up but we’ll look forward to it.”
