Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis admits he is trying to forge a link with Scottish champions Celtic.

“I’ve always tried to forge links with top clubs because they can help us out with loan players” – Steve Davis

The Alex have already arranged a private practice game with the Glasgow club at their Lennoxtown training complex for later this month, and Davis hopes the meeting can perhaps start a strong working relationship between the clubs.

Celtic are of course currently managed by former Crewe midfielder Neil Lennon, who steered his club to a domestic double last season.

“It will also be nice to catch up with Neil,” Davis explained to the Crewe Chronicle. “He came to a couple of our games last season but I never really had a chance to have a chat with him, so I’m looking forward to that.

“I’ve always tried to forge links with top clubs because they can help us out with loan players,” he added. “The ones we got in from Premier League clubs did really well for us last season.”
