Manager Steve Davis says there are plenty of alternatives on his hit-list after seemingly missing out on Swindon Town winger Billy Bodin.

The Welsh Under-21 international appears set to join Torquay United in a £70,000 move after spending time on loan at the Gulls last season before eventually finishing the campaign with a similar arrangement at Crewe.

Alex may yet come back in with a late bid but Davis still has other options in mind despite also recently missing out on former Grimsby Town winger Michael Coulson, who has joined League Two newcomers York City.

“We always felt Billy’s heart was set on Torquay,” Davis admitted to Alex’s official website. “We have spoken to others and have several on the list to follow up. Hopefully we will get another winger in sooner rather than later.”
