Striker AJ Leitch-Smith has been getting plenty of praise from manager Steve Davis following the weekend victory over Coventry City.

“He worked hard at that and was clever in-around the box” – Steve Davis

The 22-year-old showed his natural vision to help prise open the visitors’ defence and allow Max Clayton the winner during the 1-0 triumph at Gresty Road.

That added to a couple of goals already this season for a player who has netted sixteen times since first making his debut for the club three years ago.

“AJ was superb, especially in the first half against Coventry,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “He was dropping off and finding space. He worked hard at that and was clever in-around the box.”
