Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis expects a tough challenge as his side look to protect their twenty-game unbeaten run against Notts County in the opening league fixture of the season this weekend.

“It is going to be tough game against a team that was there or thereabouts last season” – Steve Davis

The visitors narrowly missed out on the play-offs on goal-difference last time and will feel confident of being back up there challenging for the automatic promotion places.

“It is going to be tough game against a team that was there or thereabouts last season,” Davis reflected to Crewe’s official website. “They have signed better players to improve them, so it will be challenge but one we are looking forward to. It will be a good opening game for us to see where we are.

“Our players are good enough to meet the challenge but they also know they will have to work hard to improve to compete at this level,” he added.
