Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis is hoping for a productive Christmas period and with it a welcome move back up the table.

“We cannot just keep thinking that we have enough games to get out of trouble” – Steve Davis

Davis is understandably seeking a much better second half of the campaign and wants to see his charges out of the bottom four at the earliest available opportunity.

“We know we have got to be better during the second half of the season and we cannot just keep thinking that we have enough games to get out of trouble,” he told Crewe’s official website. “We do have a lot of points to play, we are not quite at half way yet but we have got to get ourselves out of the situation.

“We have to start doing it now and make sure we get the results we will need to turn our season around,” warned Davis.” “We have something to build on from the Crawley result and that is the message we were putting over to the players.”

After taking on Coventry City this weekend, the Railwaymen then host Shrewsbury Town before a testing Boxing Day trip to high-flying Wolverhampton Wanderers.
