Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis is disappointed striker Marcus Haber has chosen to represent Canada this weekend instead of lining-up against Coventry City.

“I was made aware of the two Coventry lads saying that their club football was more important than an International friendly at the moment,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “I had the same conversation with Marcus when he was called up by Canada. I asked if it was important to be away from the club for a long period of time, especially if he does not play.

“I asked the question and Marcus wanted to go,” he added. “I can see both sides of the argument because it is his country but from a club point of view we could do with him at a crucial time for us.”
