Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis was understandably disappointed to surrender their four-game unbeaten run at Notts County.

“We had enough chances to have been two or three goals up” – Steve Davis

Substitute Billy Daniels scored a late winner for the home side after on loan midfielder Jamie Ness had cancelled out Liam Noble’s penalty.

“We are disappointed because we have been on a good run and we wanted that to continue,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “In that respect we are disappointed not to have got something from the game today, because I thought we had enough chances to have been two or three goals up and then we would have gone on to have won the game comfortably.

“They were nervous I thought and it was a good time to come here but we didn’t put those chances away when we were on top,” he added. “It came back to haunt us a bit and we always tell the players that if we cannot win the game then we make sure we don’t lose it, so I was disappointed we couldn’t see it through.”
