Manager Steve Davis was delighted to bring in Cardiff City defender Semi Ajayi for the next month.

“We went to work on it and managed to get one in” – Steve Davis

The 22-year-old was expected to make
an immediate debut alongside former Cardiff team-mate Ben Nugent against Oldham Athletic this weekend.

The Railwaymen are currently without defensive duo Harry Davis and George Ray because of injuries.

“There was not a lot of time to get one through yesterday, but we went to work on it and managed to get one in,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “I am pleased that we have been able to get Semi in and it was important we did something because we were two centre-halves down and Stephen Kingsley went back to Swansea.”
