Successive clean-sheets have offered a real boost of confidence for Crewe Alexandra over the past couple of games.

“Ben left the pitch on Tuesday night with a massive smile on his face” – Steve Davis

Manager Steve Davis conceded the recent welcome shut-outs against Peterborough United and Walsall had been a particular boost for young goalkeeper Ben Garratt.

“We did concede a lot of goals earlier in the season and that affected our goal difference,” he told Crewe’s official website. “But keeping two clean-sheets and only conceding one goal in the last three games is helping that.

“Ben left the pitch on Tuesday night with a massive smile on his face and I am delighted for him and the team that we have been able to get two clean-sheets,” Davis added. “I’ve told him that is what I want from him.”
