Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis continues to put his squad through their paces at their pre-season training camp in Cornwall.

“It’s a great place to spend a week, even if I have made them work very hard” – Steve Davis

The Alex can at least take a break from their ongoing fitness work when facing Truro City in their opening pre-season friendly later this evening (kick-off 7.30pm).

“We have been doing two or three sessions a day, although I let them have one afternoon of relaxation, which they could spend on the beach,” Davis told This is Staffordshire. “It’s a fantastic place, private and very picturesque. It’s a great place to spend a week, even if I have made them work very hard.”

Trialist Luke Giverin is likely to feature but both leading scorer from last season, Mathias Pogba, and left-back Gregor Robertson are definitely out of contention.
