Manager Steve Davis is keen to bring Aldershot Town front-man Danny Hylton to Crewe Alexandra.

“Danny is a player who has been on our radar for some time” – Steve Davis

Davis has already held talks with the 24-year-old striker who scored a dozen times for the relegated Shots last season.

Meanwhile, the Alex also have a couple of Conference forwards on their radar – a speedy left-winger and 6’3″ centre-forward. Both were expected to require small compensation fees.

“Danny is a player who has been on our radar for some time, we thought about him last season,” Davis told the Crewe Chronicle. “He is a good size and one of those who is decent at everything. He can score goals, is reasonably mobile and is capable of playing all across the front.

“He is out of contract and we’ve spoken to him,” he added. “If we can afford to bring him in, we will. It depends what he is looking for. If money is the key factor he`ll go elsewhere, maybe Crawley.”
