Crewe Alexandra boss Steve Davis intends on checking on former trialist Abdul Osman later this week.

Davis is chasing for additional options in midfield and ex-Northampton Town man Osman is coming under his assessment after returning from playing in Greece. Osman, 25, is currently a free agent and likely to take part in the weekend fixture against Congleton.

“He likes to play football and get on the ball,” Davis said to Alex’s official website. “He’s a very good athlete and he’s different to what we’ve got.”

But while Osman still has a chance of a permanent deal the same doesn’t seem to apply to former Chesterfield midfielder Jamie Lowry, who decided against training with Alex despite earlier indications of wanting to rejoin the club following a recent loan.
