Crewe will not find out how much they will receive from Preston North End for Billy Jones until Monday August 20th. Billy, a product of the well renowned Crewe Youth academy ran down his contract and joined Preston earlier in the summer but as he is under 24 Crewe are entilted to receive a fee.
The 20 year old played over 100 games for us and represented England at various Youth levels. Crewe Chairman John Bowler and his Preston counterpart Derek Shaw have been trying to agree a fee but after several attempts the clubs are poles apart in their valuation for Billy, Crewe value him at around 1,000,000 but Preston latest offer which was rejected was believed to be around the 400k mark.
A football league tribunal will now set the fee on the Monday after our game away at Bristol Rovers as the two sides couldn`t come to an agreement. Football League tribunals in the past have generally set low fee`s but Technical Director Gradi is adamant that we have a good case.
As soon as we hear any news on the result of the Tribunal you are sure to hear it here first on
