Dario Says It Was A Penalty

Dario has re-ignited the weekend’s penalty argument by saying he believes the referee got the decision spot on – and it was a penalty.

Port Vale felt aggrieved when referee Chris Sarginson pointed to the spot on Saturday after Gareth Owen brought down Clayton Donaldson. A bit of a over reaction from Vale park varied from it being the best tackle in the world and it being the worst referee mistake football has seen.

Whilst the decision got blasted on the likes of the BBC’s Football League Show and Late Kick Off, Dario is having none of it. The football genius says that, having studied the DVD closely, there is no doubt in his mind that Owen fouled Donaldson and didn’t even win the ball.

Dario told crewealex.net: ‘I have looked at the incident again and if you look at it frame-by-frame it is quite obvious that the defender didn’t get the ball, he got Clayton.

‘I have shown the media and they all think it was a penalty too. I showed my staff yesterday and they all agreed.

‘The referee should be able to sleep a little better.’

Unlucky, Vale…
