It appears that Holland and Baker made a long trip to Bournemouth on Tuesday for nothing. The duo took the long jouney on the recommendation of an agent who advised Jevons maybe available.

The club have annouced that Holland had a brief chat with Bristol City supremo Gary Johnson but that was as far as it went. As revealed by Crewe Vital on Wednesday.

Technical Director Dario Gradi told the official site ‘Steve and Neil (Baker) went to watch him play and decided that he wasn’t quite what we are after. He isn’t particularly quick, nor is he lightening quick to get in behind, but he is a good player and reminds us a bit of Lee Barnard. They are too similar’

So the search for a striker continues, at this rate Nicky Maynard will have returned to fitness by the time we have found a player who fits the bill.
