Crewe’s surge up the table could earn Dario the month’s Manager of the Month award.

With fifteen points from seven games, the Alex have matched John Sheridan’s Chesterfield record for the month leaving it pretty much a two horse race for the award no-one seems to want.

Whilst the Alex have won more games this month than any other side in the division, Chesterfield have gone unbeaten throughout the month which could see the award swing it’s way to Sheridan.

You can’t discount the outsiders though. Wycombe have suffered just one defeat in five games under Gary Waddock this month, guess who that defeat came against. Meanwhile Paul Sturrock’s Southend, Chris Wilder’s Oxford and Andy Hessenthaler’s Gillingham have all had a strong month.

For as long as the Alex keep on in the promotion hunt though I don’t think anyone will mind where this award will go, though some would rather not take the apparent curse that goes with it.

If I remember right, the last time Dario won such an award was way back in 02/03 – our last promotion season. Omen? Ohhhhhh.
