Dario was pleased to end a four game losing streak today with a 1-1 draw at play-off chasing Aldershot.

The under pressure manager saw his side take the lead almost straight from kick off, Clayton Donaldson netting inside a minute at the Recreation Ground. Unable to hold on to the lead, Crewe and Aldershot both settled for a point after a 42nd minute equaliser.

For Dario, the final whistle couldn’t have come soon enough – admitting relieve that the team is finally safe from relegation to the non-league.

He told CreweAlex.net: ‘I am relieved to have got the point we needed. I knew that it was highly unlikely that we would be dragged into it but I have been in football a long time and I know that highly unlikely things can still happen.

I could have hugged the referee at the end when he blew his whistle because it is a worry and has made us a bit uptight.

‘We didn’t play particularly well here this afternoon but the players were fine and created a lot of good chances.

‘When we lost our two centre-backs in the first half, I thought it isn’t going to be our day but I thought we restricted them in the second half.

‘We have disappointed our supporters over the last three seasons, we all know that, and our home form has been poor this season.’

The draw wasn’t enough to stop the Alex dropping further down the table. We now sit 18th in League Two with another couple of teams still breathing down our neck, a 20th placed finish is still very much a possibility. So, well done Dario.

But what do you think? Does today’s draw change anything? Dario in or out? Who could replace him? Are you getting a season ticket next season? Have your say on the Vital Crewe Message Board today!
