Dario has taken an interest in York City’s left wing prospect Martyn Woolford.

Woolford has been one of York’s best performers in the Blue Square Premier since joining from Frickley Athletic last season, and Dario is now looking to see if he can pounce on the non-league talent.

With no left wingers currently at the club after the sale of David Vaughan, it is one position Holland and Dario are looking to strengthen. After seeing loan moves for players fail for one reason or another, they have now turned their attentions to the non-league.

So far this year Billy Jones and Danny Woodards have both been brought in from Exeter and have settled into the starting 11 perfectly.

However, York have recently tied Woolford down to a new undisclosed contract, and with Doncaster also eyeing the 22 year old, Dario may have to stump up a bit of cash.

York City managing director Jason McGill told the York Press: ‘We are very pleased Martyn has signed an extension to his current contract. He is a talented player we want to develop further and see flourish.

‘Martyn has shown a lot of loyalty towards the club and our supporters. We are all delighted he will be continuing to play for York beyond the end of the season.’
