Danny O’Donnell has agreed a three year contract after Crewe & Liverpool agreed a undisclosed fee for the 21 year old, thought to be around the £100,000 mark.

O’Donnell spent the whole of last season on loan at the Alex in which he played 24 games, and despite a poor start to his Alex career he soon started showing signs of improvement. By the end of the season he became one of the more consistent and better players in the team.

Dario & Holland moved quickly to secure his future at the club but weeks of delays on the Liverpool side of things meant the deal never got completed till today.

Dario was obviously delighted to seal the deal but special praise came for O’Donnell’s attitude during the whole affair. DG told the official site: ‘We are delighted to have Danny with us. He is a great lad around the place and has fitted in really well. The most encouraging thing for us was that he wanted to come here and improve as a player by playing competitive games.’

O’Donnell’s signing can be seen as the final permanent transfer in and out of Crewe this summer after Dario dropped interest in Mansfield defender Alex John-Baptiste. Tottenham’s Lee Barnard is thinking over a loan move.
