Defender Harry Davis is hoping for a glorious cup run for Crewe Alexandra this season.
Having being knocked out in the opening round against Preston North End last year, Davis was expecting a much better showing this time
Alex host their new League One rivals Hartlepool United at Gresty Road as the Capital One Cup gets underway this coming weekend.
“We haven’t had a cup success for a while so we want to try to get through a few rounds and get a big tie,” Davis told the Crewe Chronicle. “It is a bit weird that our first game of the season is in the cup but we are ready.”
Davis, the 20-year-old son of manager Steve, made 48 appearances for Crewe last season on their way to eventual Wembley glory in the play-offs.
