Crewe have taken Maidenhead United midfielder Abdul Osman on trial. Osman has joined in with several training sessions at Rease Heath this week, and has done enough to earn himself a chance in a friendly game next week.

19-year old Osman made his debut for the Magpies in September 2005, having spent time as a trainee at Watford and Hampton & Richmond. Osman went on the English Colleges Squad to Italy in the summer of 2005, and has since made 46 appearances for Maidenhead, 40 of which were starts, scoring 6 goals. This season, Osman has made 14 appearances scoring just the one goal, and has been used in a variety of positions.

Osman’s primary position, however, is as an attacking midfielder. With Michael O’Connor, Ben Rix, David Vaughan, Ryan Lowe and Rodney Jack already fighting it out for the midfield positions, Osman has a lot to do if he wants to win himself a deal at Gresty Road.
