Crewe have handed a trial to left-back Euan Holden. The former Aberdeen youth player is a free agent after being released by Danish 1st Division side Vejle Boldklub.
The 22 year old, brother of Bolton midfielder Stuart Holden, will be given a run out when a fringe Alex side face Shrewsbury on Wednesday afternoon.
Holden, an Scottish-born American, has also spent time with the likes of Houston Texans, Connecticut Huskies and New Mexico Lobos in America. I love American club names.
An impressive trial could see him signed as cheap cover. Blanchett remains the only out and out left back at the club, though Matt Tootle showed he is clearly capable of covering there last season.
