Crewe Alexandra are travelling to Bradford City for their latest game this weekend.

“We know what the atmosphere is going to be like” – Steve Davis

The visitors received a major boost with the news that goalkeeper Ben Garratt is free to play after his sending-off against Eastleigh was overturned on appeal.

Midfielder Billy Bingham is pushing for inclusion following a lengthy absence with injury, and it’s hoped that Ryan Colclough will recover from a back problem.

However, striker Marcus Haber misses out having received a late call-up for Cananda, while on loan Harry Wilson is currently away with Wales Under-21s. Dave Richards (foot), Harry Davis (knee) and David Fox (back) are long-term injury absentees.

“We know what the atmosphere is going to be like because we know how much the crowd gets behind them, so the atmosphere will be good,” manager Steve Davis told the Stoke Sentinel. “It will be a cauldron.

“If things are going against us then it will be hard, and that’s when the character of our players needs to come out,” he warned. “But if we can keep them quiet, go a goal up or nullify what they’re doing, then we can go there and get a result.”

The Bantams are without James Meredith, Reece Burke and Lee Evans because of international duty, with Christopher Routis, Nathan Clarke and former Alex on loan left-back Greg Leigh all in contention.

Otherwise forward trio Steven Davies, Paul Anderson and Filipe Morais remain sidelined.
