Manager Steve Davis still wants to improve his Crewe Alexandra squad before the big kick-off.

“Talks are on-going with other players and we have been active in lining up a replacement if Murph was to leave” – Steve Davis

Talks are continuing with potential new signings to add to the couple who have so far arrived at Gresty Road this summer.

Davis remains keen to acquire a winger and another midfielder, particularly if as expected skipper Luke Murphy leaves the club.

“The squad is decent. I think it is strong but we still want to improve it and add quality,” he told Crewe’s official website. “Talks are on-going with other players and we have been active in lining up a replacement if Murph was to leave. We have spoken to two in advance of that happening.”
