It’s still undecided whether Crewe Alexandra will be without their leading goalscorer Mathias Pogba for their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final with Southend United at Wembley this weekend.

“We hope it is more a tough of severe cramp than a pull to his thigh” – Steve Davis

The 22-year-old has already scored sixteen times in his first season for the club but was forced off during their latest 1-0 victory against Preston North End on Easter Monday.

However, manager Steve Davis was remaining hopeful it was simply just a case of a touch of cramp rather than something more serious.

“We hope it is more a tough of severe cramp than a pull to his thigh,” Davis told Crewe’s official website. “Pogs is our leading goal scorer and has been our biggest goal threat but a final is there for someone to be a hero and if he doesn’t make it then it is an opportunity for someone else.”
