Crewe Alexandra remain unbeaten in five games following their 1-1 draw with promotion hopefuls Walsall at Gresty Road.

Leading goalscorer Tom Bradshaw opened the visitors’ account from the penalty spot after George Cooper handled.

However, in-form Brad Inman replied when Semi Ajayi knocked on David Fox’s early second-half free-kick.

Walsall missed early opportunities with Bradshaw thwarted by Ben Garratt before then firing too close to the keeper following another assist from Romaine Sawyers.

Bradshaw was next frustrated by the woodwork after Milan Lalkovic crossed before finally converting from the spot to give his side the lead.

But Inman claimed his sixth goal from the same number of games when heading past former Alex loanee Neil Etheridge after the break.

Saddlers’ Paul Downing proved too high in reply and Bradshaw was later denied by Garratt again as the honours remained even.
