Crewe Alexandra are in action at one of the promotion favourites as they visit MK Dons this weekend.

“Abdul is struggling at the moment and he will be out a bit longer than we had anticipated” – Steve Davis

The Alex have strengthened their options today by bringing in former midfielder Andy Bond on a month’s loan from Colchester United. He is set to replace Abdul Osman in the starting line-up after his ankle injury was worse than initially feared. On loan Arsenal teenager Chuks Aneke serves the final of a three-game ban.

Winger Byron Moore is though ready to return to the side after missing the recent draw with Leyton Orient on compassionate grounds. Striker Mathias Pogba is also on the way back and could make the bench.

“Abdul is struggling at the moment and he will be out a bit longer than we had anticipated, so he won’t be available for us tomorrow,” manager Steve Davis told Crewe’s official website. “So it was important to bring somebody in.”

David Martin and Jon Otsemobor both missed MK Dons’ midweek Capital One Cup defeat to Sunderland but should return from illness.

Centre-back Gary MacKenzie is another back in training following the effects of a groin injury but may not yet be risked.
