Crewe Play The Waiting Game

Crewe have been told they will have to wait till Friday at the earliest to get a response on their apparent ‘substantial offer’ for a striker.

The strikers club’s board will meet on Friday to discuss the offer and decide on whether to accept or not.

So far both clubs have remained tightlipped about the offer, with the player still unknown. Names are obviously doing the rounds and whilst Plymouth’s Nick Chadwick has been ruled out, Bury’s Andy Bishop and Forest Green Rovers’ Stuart Fleetwood remain strongly linked.

Fleetwood has recently been subject of a £100k bid from Cheltenham after 26 goals in 27 games for Forest Green this season. However, they ended their interest after two bids were rejected this month.
