Crewe Alexandra are now unbeaten in four games after a welcome 2-0 win over Rochdale.

Striker Marcus Haber put them in front on the half-hour when a corner wasn’t properly cleared and Brad Inman doubled their lead just prior to half-time.

Ian Henderson earlier headed wide for the visitors but Haber made no mistake when turning in at the other end after George Cooper’s corner was missed.

However, it needed goalkeeper Ben Garratt to respond as Peter Vincenti sought an equaliser before Inman stole possession from the same player and struck beyond Josh Lillis to extend the advantage.

The visitors threatened after the break with Callum Camps hoisting over and Henderson also sent another decent opportunity across the face of goal.

Alex’s Canadian striker Haber later saw a far post header turned aside by Lillis as the home side completed an important win.

Their success moved the Railwaymen four points off the bottom and advanced them a single place in the table.
