Crewe are hoping to tempt highly rated young Scotsman Robert Snodgrass to Gresty Road.

The Alex are thought to be one of the front runners for Snodgrass, who is stalling on at new deal at Scottish First Divsion club Livington.

A striker-cum-winger, Snodgrass scored 10 from the wing for Livingston last season and the Scotland U-21 international has found quite a few admirers with Carlisle, Dundee and Kilmarnock also interested.

The 20 year old has previously had a trial with European giants Barcelona but remained at Livingston, where he came through the ranks.

Snodgrass would fit into Holland’s plans perfectly for next season after the First Team Coach admitted a goal getting winger was on his wish list. Whether the Alex can beat off competition for Snodgrass though is another question.
