It’s never ending, and maybe if we go through enough names then one of them will sign. Today we’re linked with Bury’s striker Andy Bishop.

Bishop was subject to a bid late in August by Crewe but Steve Holland and Dario couldn’t match the big price tag Bury had slapped on him. However, with manager and technical director, Chris Casper and Keith Alexander, both getting the boot this week, reports suggest that a renewed bid for the 25 year old could be made.

Bishop would certainly prove to be the goal scorer the Alex are looking for. Having scored 21 last season, Bishop already has 11 goals to his name this season despite a slow start.

He started his career at Walsall, where he failed to make the grade, after a few loan moves he made a permanent move to York City in 2004. In his two years at York Bishop scored 34 goals in 79 appearances in the Conference. He signed for Bury on a free in May 2006 before renewing his contract just a few months ago, which could keep him at Bury till 2010.

It is thought that the Alex may well be able to get Bishop at a knock down price from his original £300,000 price tag, with Bury paying out a large sum on firing their management team. However, previous interest from the likes of Ipswich and Blackpool could prove a stumbling block.
