Crewe Alexandra held leaders Burton Albion to a 1-1 draw but remain deep in trouble towards the foot of the table.

Marcus Haber earned them an early advantage that was cancelled out by Lucas Akins ten minutes from the interval.

Zoumana Bakayogo’s cross deflected for Haber to tap in his seventh goal of the season on fourteen minutes before Brad Inman’s rising effort was saved by Jon McLaughlin.

The Brewers responded and Akins’ delivery was nearly met by Robbie Weir at the far post before the former squeezed a Mark Duffy cross under Ben Garratt to equalise.

Garratt later kept out a firm drive from Duffy while home substitute Charlie Kirk volleyed beyond the far post.

Alex defender Jon Guthrie was carried off late on suffering from concussion, which resulted in an extended eleven minutes of added time – but neither side could find a winner.
