Highly-rated teenager Dele Alli scored a hat-trick for MK Dons as Crewe Alexandra were heavily beaten at Stadium MK.

It took just three minutes for the eighteen-year-old to open the scoring but Kyle McFadzean’s own-goal swiftly levelled.

However, Will Grigg restored the home lead before the break and Alli soon added another following it.

Substitute Benik Afobe then made it 4-1 before Alli completed his treble and Ben Reeves added a late sixth.

There were three goals in the opening sixteen minutes, with Alli immediately slotting across Ben Garratt before McFadzean headed Matt Tootle’s cross past his own goalkeeper. But Grigg soon nodded in Reeves’ corner to regain the advantage.

Grigg was denied another by Garratt and then turned Reeves’ cross against the woodwork as the hosts continued to dominate. Both Dean Bowditch and Reeves similarly went close.

Reeves was once more involved for the third goal, delivering to the far post for Alli to grab his second early in the second-half. Darren Powell next struck an effort against an upright.

Crewe introduced latest signing Febian Brandy and his free-kick was turned over by David Martin, who later kept out Thierry Audel – in for the unwell Adam Dugdale.

But Darren Potter’s deep delivery allowed Afobe a fourth goal before Alli completed his hat-trick with the help of former Alex loanee Tom Hitchcock.

And Hitchcock was again involved when the lively Reeves made it 6-1 in the final minute – while Powell was soon denied another by Garratt.
