Crewe have been running the rule over two Rhyl players this month. Defender Shaun Dowling and midfielder Paul Mooney spent a week with the club earlier this month, playing in a reserve friendly against Liverpool.

They were joined by Faroe Islands winger Rogvi Poulsen, who the club have been keeping tabs on all season.

Dowling and Mooney are currently part of Rhyl’s table topping side in the second tier of Welsh football. Dowling is a centre back who came through Chester City’s youth system before joining Rhyl in 2009 whilst Mooney is a young midfielder.
