Crewe Face Competition For Bridges

If Crewe want Hull City’s Michael Bridges then they’ll have to fight off the likes of Preston, Hartlepool and Darlington.

Vital Crewe were the first to reveal the Bridges interest, but the club now face a scrap for the Hull City striker.

Despite reports in the national media that Bridges was on his way to us, Bridges is still no nearer leaving the KC Stadium – instead is weighing up his options.

Since being told he has no future at Hull, Bridges has interested Darlington, Preston and Hartlepool – as well as having his details being circulated to every football league club.

He is thought to be available on a three month loan deal, with a permanent deal being offered by Hull for January. However, some reports suggest that the former Leeds hit man could refuse any move in order to fight for his place at Hull.

Bridges could be seen as a perfect strike partner for Lee Barnard. With enough class to be an outstanding player in this division, he’d also provide much needed height and goals to the forward line.

Bridges spent the summer of 2005 at the club’s training ground in order to get fit, which may help the Alex convince him to join. However, with clubs nearer to his home town interested, in Darlington and Hartlepool, and a Championship side in Preston also interested, it looks like Dario and Holland will have to work over time if they want him.
