Crewe are reported to be keeping tabs on Grantham Town striker Sam Mullarkey. The Alex are said to be very keen on the former Nottingham Forest academy striker having watched him play for the Unibond Division one side this week.
Mullarkey, 20, is Grantham’s top goal scorer with 19 goals to his name this season. He joined the Gingerbreads last summer after being released by Nottingham Forest.
He has helped fire Grantham into the Unibond Division One play-offs and has also had trials with Lincoln City, his home town club, a move he described as ‘ideal for me’.
They lost 2-1 in the play-off semi-final to Nantwich Town on Tuesday.
