Byron Moore again found the net as Crewe Alexandra completed a 3-0 pre-season victory at Nantwich Town. Max Clayton was also on target for the visitors before AJ Leitch-Smith rounded off the scoring in the final minute.

Fraser McLachlan and Will Jones had already threatened for their opponents by the time Moore tapped in after getting onto the end of a Matt Tootle cross midway through the first-half.

Chris Flynn saw a reply deflected over from a defensive slip by the visitors and Mark Beesley headed wide after Clayton had done likewise at the other end.

Following the interval, Alex’s Brendan Daniels had a shot well held by ex-Morecambe keeper Jon Brain and Clayton hoisted over before turning nicely onto Moore’s cross for a second goal with fifteen minutes remaining.

Moore then struck an upright and Clayton curled another effort wide until Leitch-Smith added his first goal of campaign late on.

Crewe Alexandra: Martin, Tootle (Turton), Robertson, Ellis, Dugdale, Westwood (White), Davis (Bateman), Moore, Daniels (H. Clayton), Leitch-Smith, M. Clayton (West)
