More trouble for Crewe Alexandra as fellow strugglers Leyton Orient celebrated a first home league success of the season with a 4-1 victory.
Gianvito Plasmati and Chris Dagnall gave them an interval lead that was extended by Dean Cox after an hour.
Anthony Grant’s superb long-range effort drew a goal back for the visitors but substitute David Mooney added a late fourth.
The O’s forged in front midway through the opening half as Italian forward Plasmati rose to meet Dagnall’s cross and headed in.
Twelve minutes later Dagnall turned goalscorer when receiving from Josh Wright and driving in a low controlled finish to double the advantage
Dagnall was also involved in the third goal when goalkeeper Ben Garratt blocked his 61st minute shot and Cox stabbed in from close-range.
Alex midfielder Grant soon replied with a superb 25-yard finish before Cox and Dagnall combined to allow Mooney a comfortable fourth goal late on.
