Latest signing Ryan Lowe scored an injury-time winner as Crewe Alexandra staged a fine recovery to triumph 3-2 at Colchester United.

The 37-year-old substitute on loan from Bury expertly chipped over goalkeeper Jamie Jones after the visitors were earlier two-goals in arrears.

Callum Harriott and George Moncur netted either side of the break to leave the home side appearing well in control early in the second-half.

But Marcus Haber set up Ryan Colclough for a reply and then equalised from Lowe’s cross with ten minutes remaining.

The opening goal five minutes before the break witnessed Colchester winger Harriott veering inside and despatching a terrific 25-yard effort off the underside of the crossbar.

That was added to early in the second period when Tom Eastman’s shot was blocked near the line by Billy Bingham and Moncur snapped up the rebound from close-range.

However, Haber laid off Ollie Turton’s delivery on the hour and Colclough struck decisively into the net.

Colclough then allowed Lowe to cross for Haber to claim an equaliser before Alex’s returning veteran marksman stole it with a clinical finish right at the death.
