Crewe Alexandra Sign Kevin O’Connor On Loan

|

Crewe Alexandra have completed the signing of Irish full-back Kevin O’Connor on a loan deal until January, the club have confirmed this afternoon, becoming the fifth signing of the summer.

O’Connor, 23, started his career at Waterford United as an 18-year-old before moving to Cork City in April 2015 where he would take part in 2 UEFA Europa League campaigns for the Rebel Army. He arrived in England during the 2017 summer transfer window and spent the second-half of last season out on loan at Fleetwood Town.

He has also got 4 caps as a Republic of Ireland Under-21 player as well as 3 at Under-17 level.

What are we getting with the signing of O’Connor?

Going just off the limited articles on the web about Kevin, he’s an attacking left-back who also can take set-pieces which will be vital after we found out earlier in the week that Harry Pickering will be missing for months rather than weeks after he got injured in the Colchester away game.

One Preston fan did have this to say about O’Connor though:
