Crewe Alexandra have completed the signing of former Saint Kitts and Nevis defender Michael Nottingham on loan until the end of the season from Blackpool, the club confirmed yesterday afternoon.

Nottingham, 30, has worked his way through non-league teams Romulus, Castle Vale, Redditch United, Gresley, Solihull Moors and Salford City before joining Blackpool in the summer of 2018.

Michael will wear the number 28 shirt during his spell with the Alex.

What are the Alex getting out of Nottingham?

Going from what is available online, he’s a full-back who can play at centre-back, although with him being 6 foot 4 he’s more likely to play in the latter during the loan spell, especially with the future of Christian Mbulu in doubt and the current injures to centre-backs Eddie Nolan, Olly Lancashire and Nicky Hunt.

Looking at his career, he’s someone with a bit of experience (over 250 games in total) although the majority of it is in non-league, with only 32 league appearances for Blackpool in his 18 months there.
