There have been four competitive fixtures on September 18th in the 25-year period, taking place in 2001, 2004, 2010 and 2012.

The game in 2001 saw Crewe Alexandra host Wimbledon at the Alexandra Stadium. Wayne Brown gave the Dons a 2nd minute lead before second-half goals from David Connolly, Kevin Cooper and David Nielsen gave the visitors a comfortable win.
